Most wondrous of all, his ship carries no crew; through silken threads of magic, Kaspar alone maneuvers hundreds of sails with surgical precision and commands the broadside cannons to roar in perfect unison.

Legend has it that this formidable mage-captain was once deeply in love with the Queen of Skykor, and they stood on the very precipice of marriage. However, bound by the Queen’s heavy duty to her crown, Kaspar chose to retreat from her life, transforming instead into the most steadfast shield of her waters. He sails the Elfin Sea eternally—a ghost-like sentinel intercepting pirates and arms smugglers, silently guarding the realm of the woman he loves.

The tale of Captain Kaspar is a tapestry of half-truths. Most of the flamboyant prose and miraculous sorcery are fictions spun by Greenwood to soothe his daughter. Yet, a kernel of reality remains: Kaspar is based on a flesh-and-blood companion from Greenwood’s early days of adventure—a man whose name sounded something like… Sai…ne?
